A previous 1980’s addition to this stately Minneapolis home left it looking tired and plain in the front and strange and garbled in the back. Our task was to add curb appeal to the front, make sense of the interior layout and create a charming back facade that connected with the backyard.
Our approach was to tear off the old addition and roof and add a full 3 story addition on the back that contained the kitchen, dining room, screen porch and mudroom on the first floor and master suite on the second. We also added a new third floor and remodeled the lower level.
New millwork and shutters around the front windows added charm to the front facade and the new copper roof over the reconfigured entryway replaced a old barrel vault and created a more welcoming entry.
