This new home designed and built by Locale was a redo for the Property as well as for the couple it was designed for. The couple had lived in Minneapolis in their past, moved to Edina and now wanted to move back to the city to be within walking distance of the lakes they love to frequent.
The final design of this home harkens back to the simple gable form common to the neighborhood but allows for a modern twist that the clients were very excited to pursue. By designing a home that is long and slender it fits appropriately between its neighbors but allows for dramatic interior natural light throughout the day. The clients of this home are excited to live here for many years to come. Welcome back to Minneapolis!

“This was our second project with Jim but instead of a remodel this one would merge building a dream home with the practicality of staying within a budget. With the Locale team, we managed to do both and had a blast doing it. How often do you hear the word “fun” with a new construction building project? Jim is a great educator when it comes to design options, budget trade-offs, and practicality. He engages your senses to draw out your concerns vs. desires, building your confidence for making the inevitable, tough decisions. Were their compromises, sure. Are we delighted with the result, absolutely.”
