In this Summit Hill home filled with rich millwork and old-world charm, the existing living room had been stripped of much of its millwork and character sometime during its long history and was no longer living up to the house’s high standards.
We took what was once an unassuming gas fireplace with an out of scale small wooden surround and turned it into a feature wall fit for a house of this era.
The new arched top fireplace and tile surround is surrounded by a large quarter sawn oak-paneled overmantel and flanked by two built-in cabinets. We created custom moldings to match the original millwork and our finishers expertly matched the deep, rich color of the existing wood. In the end, the new fireplace wall is a seamless change that feels like it was always there
